I always know when I’m a little out of my depth, because things don’t seem to work quite right.
Here’s lft, which I understand to be a traceroute tool that dates back to 1998.
As you can see, lft never seems to get out of my local network, and that even when I tell it the gateway.
More often than not, issues like that are because of my own inability to configure things properly. I acknowledge this could be my error.
Mostly because lft seems to work locally quite quick. I can tap other machines in the house, and rather speedily too.
So I’m going to include this on the grounds that more than likely, I’m doing something wrong. Keep it in mind next time you need a traceroute tool. 😉
