joe: In praise of recursive acronyms

I’ve got another text editor for you today, and by the looks of it, it might be something valuable to the non-emacs, non-vim contingent. Here’s joe.

joe seems to take after ee and aee, or maybe it’s just the way the menus look.

Most everything seems to be run via control key, which I like for being something like WordStar, oh so long ago.

Supposedly joe has been around since 1988, so no doubt some of you with frosty beards will remember it.

In any case, it’s a step away from emacs and an even bigger step away from vim, so if neither of those suits your fancy, give it a try.
