Correction: A tale of two hunts

I approach the keyboard with trepidation today, realizing that I have, again, publicly made a mistake, and this time of exceptional newb level.

Ethan was right, and it only took a second or two to verify that what I mistook for an unprivileged teaser version of hunt was in fact something else called hunt, out of bsdgames.

I am so embarrassed. 😳

I don’t usually install new software on the machine running Debian; it never needs it and unless I can’t find something in Arch, it just continues to work, day in and day out. That’s Debian for you.

But at some point in the past I apparently installed bsdgames and never took it off. And therein lie the duplicate hunt.

Without superuser privileges, hunt is an old maze game. With it, you get the network gadgets. Two different programs. Not related at all.

I apologize for not figuring that out sooner, and Ethan gets a bonus point for hinting at my mistake. I don’t have any excuses, except that I have been preoccupied with my failing hard drive these days, and didn’t take the time to do things right. 😦

Either that, or the sun was in my eyes. Could’ve been both. 😳
