After all, irssi was doing the work in that case. bitlbee was just piggybacking.
I don’t know that there’s much that I can say about irssi. I’ve used it for years … maybe twice a year for years, that is.
I know enough to sign on, get into #archlinux and send a message or two. At some point in the past I validated my account name, but I’ve forgotten how I did that. 😦
