I almost forgot to mention this one, in the wake of my embarrassing declaration that rexima was dead.
Rumors of its demise have been greatly exaggerated.
That of course, uses aoss to get it started — that tip comes from Ian again, who reminded me that the alsa-oss package really ties the room together.
rexima is a pared-down version of aumix, if you compare one to the other.
No balance controls this time, and no color either. This is very sparse, but just as functional as aumix or, for that matter, alsamixer.
And of course, I promise to be more careful in the future. 😉
I have a new hobby… packaging the applications you find! I then went on to find that rexima is available in the community repo *DOH*
Rexima is definitely not dead. In fact I’ve perked it up a bit with a splash of color and the ability to resize itself down to just a few characters on one line if need be. Works great on the zipit. You can spot it in quite a few of the pics here. Source code too. http://macrofig.blogspot.com/search?q=rexima
